Sensual Living
Dressing for Your Own Pleasure
What if you got dressed for how it makes you feel, not how it makes you look? A gentle practice of sensual self-expression.

Who are you dressing for?
For years, I got dressed for an imaginary audience. Would they approve? Would it be too much? Too little? I’ve always been called “too much,” and I spent a long time trying to shrink into clothes that made me palatable.
Then I started asking a different question: how does this feel on my skin?
Start with texture
Notice what your body loves to touch. Silk. Soft cotton. Linen warmed by the sun. A sweater that feels like a hug. Sensuality begins with sensation, and fabric is something you feel all day long.
You don’t need to buy anything new. Pull out the piece you’ve been “saving for a special occasion.” Today is the occasion.
Adorn yourself as an offering
In so many temples I’ve visited, the deities are adorned with flowers, gold and color every morning. Not out of vanity, but devotion. What if you dressed yourself that way? A favorite ring, a scent you love, a flower in your hair, small offerings to the divine in you.
Wear what makes you feel alive, beautiful soul. Whether that’s a slip dress or your softest sweatpants. Pleasure isn’t a look. It’s a feeling.
