Dessert for breakfast? Yes please
Beautiful soul, this one feels a little naughty, like Black Forest cake decided to become a healthy breakfast. Rich chocolate oats, cool creamy yogurt, dark juicy cherries… mmmm. And you make it while you're winding down the night before. Future you will be so grateful.
Five minutes. One jar. Zero cooking. Grab it on your way out the door, or sit with it slowly on the balcony.
Why your body loves it
Oats bring slow-release energy and beta-glucan fiber. Soy milk and soy yogurt bring protein and, when fortified, calcium, vitamin D and B12. Chia and pumpkin seeds add omega-3s, iron, magnesium and zinc.
Raw cacao is naturally rich in iron and magnesium (hello, mood!), and cherries bring antioxidants and a little vitamin C. Approximate per jar: 430 calories, 20 g protein, 5 mg iron, 11 g fiber. Add a scoop of vegan protein powder for about 15–20 g more protein.
Make it your own
Frozen cherries are perfect here, they melt overnight and bleed that gorgeous ruby juice into the oats. Swap for raspberries if you like. Make three jars at once and you're set for the week. x
